Kerry Porter, EMDR Therapist

At Positive Future Self, my role is to help clients through tough times and aid them in finding solutions to their problems and difficulties.

As a trained EMDR therapist, I am able to assist with PTSD, anxiety, and any traumas that are still affecting the client. Whether the traumas have been with clients for many years or are more recent, and with varying degrees of disturbance, all can be addressed with EMDR. I derive great satisfaction from witnessing the positive changes as I work alongside clients, guiding them toward a happier, more fulfilled version of themselves.

I absolutely love my job and relish working with such caring and specialised individuals. Each day, I eagerly anticipate coming to work and witnessing the profound differences our clients experience as they progress through their therapy sessions.

Outside of work, I adore spending time with my family, which includes four adult children, their partners, and nine grandchildren. My 8-year-old groodle, Reggie, and I love our beach walks, particularly at Sleaford, a favorite spot. I have a passion for dancing, something I've been doing since the age of 6, though I'm currently recovering from several surgeries before I can return to it fully. Travel is another love, although Covid has posed some challenges. My favorite destination to visit is Nusa Lembongan, an island east of Bali. Additionally, I cherish Fridays, as I get to know and care for my youngest grandchild, witnessing her growth and development.

I find inspiration in our CEO, Jenny, an amazing woman with a vision that has transformed Positive Future Self into what it is today. The organisation now stands as a group of specialised therapists who support each other and offer a wide array of therapies to those seeking to improve their lives. Jenny's vision and dedication motivate me to strive for excellence in my own role.
