Colleen Lynch

Allow me to introduce myself - I'm Colleen, a passionate and creative art therapist with a strong academic background. I hold a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honors) and pursued my Master of Science in Art Therapy, which opened the door for me to explore the profound therapeutic potential of art in healing and self-expression.

My enthusiasm for the therapeutic arts shines through in my work as I adeptly combine various creative modalities. I'm well-versed in different forms of art therapy, including drawing, painting, clay sculpting, collage, and textile crafts. This versatility allows me to tailor my approach to your unique needs and preferences.

One of my key interests lies in trauma-informed therapy, and I've undergone specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This equips me to guide you through processing and resolving traumatic experiences using art-based interventions.

My therapeutic toolbox extends beyond traditional artistic methods. I also incorporate play and role play, body-based somatic techniques, and sensory techniques to facilitate healing and growth in you.

Guided by a person-centred philosophy, I embody a warm and personable demeanor, creating a safe and supportive environment. Drawing from my own lived experiences, I foster empathy and cultural awareness, valuing each individual's unique journey.

My insatiable curiosity and desire to understand you ensure that I tailor my interventions to suit your specific needs and preferences. My diverse skill set allows me to work effectively with both children and adults facing a wide range of challenges, such as ASD, ADD, ADHD, mood disorders, congenital and developmental disorders, and acquired brain injuries.

Furthermore, I'm skilled in couples therapy and family systems approaches, recognizing the interconnectedness of individuals within relationships and family dynamics. My therapeutic style is grounded in a common-sense approach, allowing you to explore and address your concerns in a practical and supportive manner.

With a deep passion for art therapy and a commitment to fostering healing and growth, my work as an art therapist is an invaluable asset to the field of mental health. I'm here to empower you to overcome adversity and discover your true potential.
