Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Supporting the wellbeing of your people

Every workplace is made up of people, and people don’t leave life’s challenges at the door when they come to work.

Stress, grief, relationship difficulties, illness, workplace conflict, significant life changes, and unexpected events can all affect a person’s wellbeing, confidence, and ability to perform at their best. Providing timely access to professional support helps employees navigate these challenges while reinforcing a workplace culture that values wellbeing.

At Positive Future Self, we believe an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) should do more than provide support when someone is in crisis. It should be a trusted, accessible service that encourages early intervention, promotes resilience, and contributes to a psychologically healthy workplace.

What is an Employee Assistance Program?

An Employee Assistance Program is an employer-funded service that provides employees with confidential access to qualified professionals for personal and work-related concerns. Depending on your organisation’s program, support may also be available to immediate family members.

Employees may seek support for a range of reasons, including:

  • Stress, anxiety, and burnout
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship and family concerns
  • Workplace conflict
  • Change and uncertainty
  • Critical incidents
  • Building resilience and coping strategies

Seeking support early can help people develop practical strategies, improve their wellbeing, and feel better equipped to manage challenges before they become more significant.

Our approach

No two organisations are the same, and neither are the people within them.

That’s why we take a personalised approach to every Employee Assistance Program we deliver. We work with organisations to understand their workforce, culture, and objectives, ensuring the program is aligned with their needs while providing employees with compassionate, confidential, and professional support.

Our practitioners focus on building genuine human connection, creating a safe and respectful space where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward.

How our EAP works

We work with your organisation to establish an Employee Assistance Program that is straightforward to access and simple to administer.

Employees can access confidential support through the agreed referral pathway, with appointments available:

  • In person
  • By telephone
  • Via secure online video consultation

Depending on your organisation’s needs, our EAP can also include:

  • Critical incident response
  • Manager consultations
  • Guidance following significant workplace events
  • De-identified utilisation reporting that provides meaningful organisational insights while protecting employee privacy

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is fundamental to an effective Employee Assistance Program.

Employees can access support knowing that the information they share remains confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or where there is an immediate risk of serious harm.

Employers do not receive information about individual sessions. Where reporting forms part of your program, it is provided in an aggregated and de-identified format, allowing organisations to understand overall trends while maintaining employee privacy.

More than an Employee Assistance Program

Supporting individual employees is an important part of workplace wellbeing, but lasting change also involves creating an environment where people can thrive.

Alongside our Employee Assistance Program, Positive Future Self works with organisations to strengthen psychosocial safety through services such as our Organisational Psychosocial Assessment (OPA), training, and workplace wellbeing initiatives.

Together, these services help organisations support individuals, understand workplace risks, and build healthier, more resilient workplaces.

Why partner with Positive Future Self?

We believe the most effective workplace wellbeing programs are built on relationships, trust, and a genuine understanding of people.

When you partner with Positive Future Self, you gain more than access to confidential employee support. You gain a team that understands the broader factors influencing workplace wellbeing and is committed to helping organisations create environments where people feel supported, connected, and able to perform at their best.
