Colleen Lynch studied Fine Arts at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. She completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honours and has held and participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions in Australia, China and the USA.
 
Upon completion of her degrees she moved to the USA to study Art Therapy at Nazareth College Rochester NY. 
 
She completed several internships at Nazareth College Speech, Language and Communication Disorders Clinic with focus on Aphasia, The Sister's of St Joseph's Dementia Ward, Strong Memorial Hospital (Oncology), and was employed by the Rochester City School District as their first art therapist working with children living at risk of violence and neglect. Colleen obtained her Masters of Science in Art Therapy in 2001.   
 
She relocated to Maryland after graduation and was accepted as a Fellowship at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH, NIH) in Bethesda.
 
Colleen worked with teams of scientists undertaking molecular neurobiological and neuropathological research into the cause and origins of Schizophrenia, Bipolar and Mood Disorders, Alzheimer's Disease and rare neurological disorders. She managed the collection and storage of data, biological samples, clinical records,  as well as obtaining forensic records from the Washington DC and Northern Virginia Medical Examiners Offices contributing to scientific publications and journals. Colleen has  an extensive background in clinical and biological research, as well as the pharmaceutical industry (clinical trials and data management) and has advanced skills in technology.
 
Colleen returned to Australia in 2011. She has held several different positions including owning her own café and art gallery in Tumby Bay she has participated in arts festivals SALT and SALA.
 
She opened her Art Therapy, Wellness & Creative Arts Studio in 2018 in Port Lincoln and has practiced as art therapist on the Eyre Peninsula for several years with several mental health organizations.
